The Timberline Twins project was a bold exploration of symmetry, contrast, and contemporary form. Designed for a growing family seeking a standout statement in a suburban streetscape, the home blends warm natural finishes with sharp black cladding and crisp geometric lines. The twin gables give the facade a strong architectural rhythm, while generous glazing ensures the interiors remain light-filled and open.

Key Features:

  • Twin Gable Rooflines: These striking volumes create a dynamic and symmetrical facade, reinforcing the home’s bold street presence.

  • Mixed Cladding Palette: Vertical timber battens, charred black cladding, and exposed brickwork blend warmth, texture, and contrast.

  • Framed Views: Floor-to-ceiling windows and a generous upper balcony create a seamless indoor-outdoor connection and modern spatial flow.

  • Private Entry Axis: A covered walkway draws visitors through a private landscaped corridor, softening the strong architectural forms.

  • Zoned Living: Clever internal planning ensures separate spaces for entertaining, working, and unwinding—ideal for modern family life.

Process Highlights:

  • Concept Development: Inspired by Nordic forms and Aussie context, this design started with a sketch that emphasized contrast and balance.

  • Client Visualisation: We created full 3D renders and a walk-through to help the clients experience the space before a single wall was built.

  • Material Selection: Timber tones were chosen for longevity and richness, paired with low-maintenance dark cladding for drama and durability.

""From the first concept, we knew this was something special. The design felt bold and unique, but still incredibly practical for our growing family. Being able to walk through the home virtually before it was built gave us so much confidence in the decisions we were making. Every detail—from the warm timber tones to the striking gables—was intentional, and we felt supported and understood throughout the whole process. It’s more than a home—it’s a reflection of who we are.""
